The Sangamon County Circuit Clerk’s Office is accepting applications for a full-time position for Deputy Clerk.

Responsible for maintaining court schedules, preparing files for court, clerking for the Judges, docketing information from court, updating files, and working with Judicial, State’s Attorney, Public Defender and Probation Department’s staff, as well as the general public. 

Graduation from high school; experience in operation of key entry equipment, multi-line phone, and other standard office equipment; typing, great communication and organizational skills.  Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must pass a criminal background check.

Knowledge of grammar, spelling and organizational skills; working knowledge of the methods and equipment used in entering and verifying input data; ability to accurately proofread in a timely manner; ability to type 60-65 words per minute; ability to follow written and oral instructions; and ability to use various software programs including Word, WordPerfect, Excel.

Annual salary of $36,929.00, health, dental, and life insurance; pension plan; deferred compensation option; paid vacation, sick and personal time.
