Administrative Services Division

Administrative Services entails handling personnel and financial duties and records for the department. It also includes responsibility for maintaining all records that the department is required to keep including case records for clients. Support staff for the department are part of this division.

Adult Services is responsible for monitoring, supervising and counseling offenders sentenced to probation, conditional discharge or supervision by the court. This responsibility includes protection of the public; enforcing payment of restitution; supervising DUI offenders; drug testing; enforcing of probation conditions to control the risk of offenders committing further crimes; as well as assisting offenders in establishing and achieving legitimate goals that lead them to become productive members of the community.

Hours: 24 hours per day every day

Detention Services is the designated reception facility for minors in custody pending court action. Detention is a locked and physically restrictive setting with staff supervision 24 hours each day. Minors in detention are provided clothing, food, shelter and care as should be provided by parents. School, physical and social recreation, and behavioral programming are provided year round for youth in residence.

Juvenile Services works primarily with at-risk and delinquent minors and follows the balanced and restorative justice (BARJ) model which takes in to account the needs of not only the offender but also victims and the community. This unit’s responsibilities include: receiving, investigating and evaluating complaints indicating delinquency or behavior beyond the control of parents; assists in determining whether or not a petition should be filed or some other action should be taken; conducting preliminary conferences; making referrals to other agencies for treatment or services; counseling and supervising minors referred to court; arranging for placements pursuant to court orders; and, providing probation supervision and protective supervision ordered by the court.

Program Services includes a number of programs and services for both adult and juvenile clients. Some of these are public/community service employment, electronic monitoring, home detention, specialized caseloads, and cognitive/behavioral treatment groups for probationers and court-involved youth. This unit also coordinates volunteer and internship programs for the department.
