Welcome to the official land records office for Sangamon County. Records date back to the early 1800's. The most famous documents recorded in Sangamon County are those of Abraham Lincoln. Many other notable names can be found on record.

The most prominent instruments recorded are mortgages, deeds and liens. Numerous other type records can be found including out-of-county, state and country birth, marriage and death certificates. Veteran Discharge (DD214) Records can be filed without charge or fee.

The official records are comprised of Grantor/Grantee indexes and are found on microfilm, microfiche and computer. Instrument images are retrieved from hard copy, microfilm or computer.
