Don Stephens was appointed to represent District 5 for the Sangamon County Board in April, 2002. He was elected as District 5 county board representative in November 2002.  Don Stephens has lived in the Chatham area for over 33 years. His county board committee assignments are as follows;

• Employee Services Committee – Chairman
• OEM/911 Committee - Member
• Public Health, Safety and Zoning Committee – Member
• Community Resource Committee – Past Member
• Civil Liabilities Committee – Past Member
• Road & Bridge Committee – Past Member

Don has and currently serves on many boards and committees at both the local and county levels. They are as follows;

• Chatham Township Supervisor – 16 years
• Chatham Township Trustee for 8 years

• Sangamon County Land Use Advisory Board – Past Chairman
• Ball/Chatham Soccer Club Division Chairman and Coach / Village Liaison
• Chatham Economic Development Board – Past Member
• Chatham Food Pantry

Don is a graduate of Chatham Glenwood High School. He and his wife, Brenda, have two children.
