Bill Moss was elected to represent District 28 on the Sangamon County Board in November 2002. He has lived in the district for over 45 years. He worked in construction as a union laborer until 1990. He then became a stationary engineer and continued in that field until 2000. He once managed the Central Sign Division for the IL Department of Transportation and now operates his own concrete and excavation company.
Since coming on to the county board, Bill has been assigned to the Community Resource Committee and now serves as the committee Chairman. He is also on the Finance Committee, the Collective Bargaining Committee and the SWAMP Committee. Bill is a past member of the Public Health, Safety and Zoning Committee.
His civic interests include Mason/Shriner, Special Olympic, past auxiliary deputy for the Sheriff’s Department, past member of the Local 477 Laborers and present member of the Local 399 Operating Engineers. Bill and his family are members of the Third Presbyterian Church. Bill and his wife, Norma Jean, are parents of two daughters and a son.
