District 3 Term: 2006 - 2010 David Mendenhall (R) David Mendenhall is a lifelong resident of the rural Buffalo area. He graduated from Illiopolis High School and attended Parkland Community College and the University of Illinois, majoring in Ag Business and Animal Science. David was elected to the county board in November of 2002. He currently serves on the Civil Liabilities, Road and Bridge, Public Health, Safety & Zoning and is chairman of the OEM/911 Committee. He previously served on the Jail-ESDA Committee. He retired as the Assistant Chief of the Mechanicsburg Fire Department after 30 years of service. Other community interests include the Sangamon-Menard Council for the University of Illinois Cooperative Extension Service and the Board of Directors for the Sangamon County Farm Bureau. David is employed with BI-Petro Inc as the Safety Officer and Director of Transportation. He actively participates in the management of family farms. He is married and he and his wife have five children.
