Rosemarie’s hands-on leadership and open door policy has proven to be an asset to the County. She is committed to maintaining a balanced budget, continued quality services and community viability for all citizens of Sangamon County. Her County Board service includes:
- Vice-Chairman of the Sangamon County Board
- Chairman of the Buildings and Grounds Committee – Saved taxpayer dollars by streamlining and upgrading county telecommunication operations and expansion of the county web site.
- Member of the Finance Committee – Administers county budget for all departments.
- Member of the Election Oversight Committee – Responsible for reviewing expenditures, approving contracts, monitoring the election budget and provide input on election related procedures.
- Member of the Road & Bridge Committee – Supervises expenditures for the County Highway Department, contracts pertaining the road & bridge work and oversees all matters pertaining to county roads and bridges.
- Member of the OEM/911 Committee – Responsible for monitoring the expenditures of the Office of Emergency Management and provide oversight of the compatibility of services between the 911 Department, Office of Bio-Terrorism and Office of Emergency Management.
- Chairman of the Coroner Facility Task Force Committee – Responsible for reviewing the need for a new Coroner Facility for Sangamon County.
- Chairman of the Sangamo Scripts Committee – Responsible for implementing and monitoring the Sangamon County Sangamo Scripts Program which provides a free card to obtain discount prescription rates for county residents.
- Member of the Community Services Block Grant Advisory Board – Oversees federal funded program which provides low-income people funding for employment, education, housing and emergency services.
- Member of the Small Business Loan Review Committee – Approves loans to create and retain jobs for small businesses and promote economic growth in Sangamon County.
- Member of the Public Health Facility Planning Committee – Responsible for researching and overseeing the design and build of a new public health building in the medically underserved area.
Community Service
- Chairman of the “97 Special Olympics” Fund-raiser sponsored by the Sangamon County Board.
- President of the Greater Springfield Township Northenders Republican Club
- Recipient of 1997 Illinois Department of Public Health Community Service Award.
