Linda Fulgenzi was appointed to the Sangamon County Board in 2007 to represent District 12. Linda’s district includes Jerome, Colony West, Precinct 18 of Leland Grove and precincts in Woodside Township and in the City of Springfield. With her varied interests, education and involvement with community organizations, she brings to the board, an expertise in working with diverse groups of people in unique situations.
Linda serves on four standing committees. They are OEM/911, dedicated to protecting the public, Court Services, an oversight committee for Court Administration departments, Community Resources, which has oversight of the Weatherization, LIHEAP and WIA programs and the Liquor Committee, which recommends the issuance of licenses, permits and censures for inappropriate activities. She has also served on the Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan Task Force and the Customer Service Initiative. Linda is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our community.
Linda is a life long resident of Springfield and a graduate of Feitshans High School, Springfield College in Illinois and Sangamon State University (UIS) with a degree in Environments and People and a Masters in Counseling. She taught elementary classes in District 186 for 11 years and served on the Leland Grove City Council for 8 years.
Linda’s community involvement varies from past-president of the Springfield Art Association, serving on the boards of SCI, Ursuline Academy and Sojourn House to portraying Mary Todd Lincoln at Lincoln’s home, in schools and at public events. She served on the first committee of the Children’s Museum, the Springfield Commission on International Visitors and participated in special events for the IL Department of Natural Resources. Linda is very proud of her involvement with the March of Dimes fund raiser in 2003, when her granddaughter, son and daughter-in-law were the Ambassador Family.
Linda and her husband, Jim Sr. are the proud parents of two married children, Jim Jr. (Cindy) and Danielle (Nick) Giacomini and are kept busy with six grandchildren.
Linda is a partner in the Design/Build firm of Fulgenzi Enterprises, recently featured on national television.
